Maoists' hideout busted, one operative arrested

One Maoist operative was arrested, while few others managed to escape in a joint anti-combing operation of security forces in Baskatwa Pahari forest early this morning in Bihar's Gaya district, the police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said after getting information that some Maoists were camping at Baskatwa Pahari forest, a joint team of the CRPF, STF, COBRA, Rail Police and Gaya Police cordoned off the area and launched search operations late last night.

At least 200 rounds were exchanged during operation.

The SSP said the exchange of firing, which started late last night, continued till this morning. Some Maoists managed to escape, while one was arrested from the spot.
 

The arrested person has been identified as Subhra Munda.

The Police have recovered 27 cartridges, five mobile phones, three mobile chargers and five Solar plates.
