Markets end flat in cautious trade

Equities ended flat in thin trade today, with benchmark Sensex finishing below the 30,000-mark amid mixed global cues.

The 30-share index opened in green and hit a high of 30,017.82, but succumbed to profit-booking to reach 29,911.44. It finally ended at 29,933.25, up 7.10 points, or 0.02 per cent.

The broader Nifty ended higher by 2.80 points, or 0.03 per cent, at 9,316.85 after shuttling between 9,338.95 and 9,307.70.
