Mauritius woos TN entrepreneurs

Mauritius today invited captains of industries here to explore business opportunities in the island nation.

In an interaction with members of local chapter of CII and Young Indians, Vice-President of Republic of Mauritius, Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, urged stakeholders in the construction industry, information and communication technology, film development and also manufacturing sector to visit and explore business opportunities in Mauritius.

He invited an industrial delegation to visit Mauritius to understand the requirements and start new ventures or joint ventures with the industry there.

Vyapoory also said the island nation is tops in Africa with regard to ease of doing business.
 

Though there is huge potential for investment, compared to India labour cost is high, he added.

"It is a small market. We are into production and export of sugar to the United Kingdom and make apparel for the US market. We import garments and re-export as apparel, source rice and clove from India," the Mauritius vice-president said.
