Maximum temperatures today fell few notches below normal in some parts of Punjab and Haryana with light rains lashing at isolated places in the region.
Union territory Chandigarh recorded its maximum at 37.5 deg C, down by two degrees below normal. The city witnessed 9 mm rainfall early this morning, MeT department report said today.
In Haryana, Ambala had a high of 37.2 deg C with rainfall of 12.8 mm while Karnal recorded its maximum at 37.2 deg C. Narnaul's maximum was 37.5 deg C, three degrees below normal.

Bhiwani was the hottest place in the region with its maximum at 41.6 deg C while Hisar had a high of 41 deg C.
In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their maximum at 39.3 deg C and 38.6 deg with rainfall of 2.2 mm and 4 mm respectively. Amirtsar settled at 38.8 deg C.
