The maximum temperatures today hovered close to normal limits at many places in Haryana and
Punjab.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius, the Meteorological Department report said here.
In Haryana, the maximum temperatures at Ambala 40.3 degrees Celsius, Hisar 40.1 degrees Celsius, Bhiwani 40.5 degrees Celsius, Karnal 39 degrees Celsius and Narnaul 39.5 degrees Celsius settled close to normal limits.
Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala in Punjab, too, registered near normal maximums of 38.4 degrees Celsius, 39.6 degrees Celsius and 40.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The MeT here has forecast thunderstorm with gusty winds likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days.
