Maximum temps hover near normal limits in Punjab, Hry

The maximum temperatures Sunday hovered close to normal limits in Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department report said here.

Ambala in Haryana registered a high of 34.1 degrees while Bhiwani's maximum settled at 36.7 degrees Celsius.

Hisar recorded a high of 36.8 degrees Celsius while the maximum in Karnal and Narnaul was 34 and 35.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 34.8 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala registered respective maximums of 35.3 and 35.2 degrees Celsius.

The MeT Department has forecast light to moderate rains at isolated places in the two states for Monday, at a few places for Tuesday and at most places in the subsequent days of the week.
