Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd (MCFL) today reported a net profit of Rs 7.73 crore for the third quarter on higher sales.
It had posted a net loss of Rs 3.63 crore in the year-ago period.
Net sales of the firm increased to Rs 550.22 crore the quarter review from Rs 514.96 crore a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Its expenses also rose to Rs 516.14 crore from Rs 496.10 crore in the the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
MCFL has a urea plant near Mangalore port with an annual capacity of about four lakh tonnes three lakh tonnes of phosphatic fertilisers.
