Medical aspirant commits suicide in Rajasthan's Kota

An 18-year-old boy preparing for competitive medical exams here allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his rented room in Kunadhi area, police said today.

The body of the deceased, Varun Punjabi, was found this morning hanging from the ceiling fan with a piece of cloth inside the room, Ram Khiladi Meena, SHO at Kunadhi police station said.

The boy was preparing for the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) at a coaching institute here for last four months, Meena said.

In a three-lined suicide note recovered from the spot, Varun mentioned that he took the extreme step due to his own mistakes and sought apology from parents, SHO Meena said, adding that police is further investigating the case.
 

Police said the body will be sent for post-mortem after his guardians arrive from Ludhiana.
