Mentally-challenged man kills mother, arrested

A 23-year-old tribal man was today arrested for allegedly axing his mother to death in the Uranium township of Jadugora, around 22 kms from here, police said.

Saro Singh Bodra alias Santosh had some heated argument with his 55-year-old mother Jambi Bodra over domestic issues and killed her with an axe last night, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Musaboni), Ajit Kumar Vimal said.

On alarm by her family members, the villagers rushed to her rescue but found Jambi dead, he said.

Santosh, who is mentally challenged, was arrested this morning.
