Mentha oil fell 0.78% to Rs 879.70 per kg in futures trade today after speculators cut down their bets, triggered by subdued demand in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in February eased by Rs 7 or 0.78% to Rs 879.70 per kg in a business turnover of 79 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in January contracts shed Rs 6.80 or 0.77% to Rs 867 per kg in 402 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot markets mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
