Militant outfit claims responsibility for attack on Assam

Proscribed militant outfit Revolutionary People's Front today claimed responsibility for Saturday's attack in Tengnoupal district that injured three Assam Rifles jawans.

The claim by militant outfit, through a press statement, comes after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded at the junction of H Mongjang village and Imphal-Moreh road, about 103 km from Imphal when an Assam Rifle patrol party was moving on foot.

Three jawans -- Subedar Sher Ram, Riflemen Sachin, and Basumatari -- were injured in the incident.
