Tamil Nadu Textiles Minister Gokula Indira today reviewed the production of handloom saris and dhotis in the district.
At a meeting with the officials of Handloom department and also with Erode District administration, she said the chief minister has sanctioned Rs 100 crore to the state Textiles Ministry to produce 30 lakh saris and an equal number of dhotis to be supplied to the flood affected victims in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Cuddalore districts.
The goods would be ready by the end of this month and would be distributed to the flood-hit victims.
