Minor girl charred to death in UP

A six-year-old girl was today charred to death while her mother and brother sustained burn injuries when fire broke out in Nighasan area here, police said.

Shabnam was charred to death when the hut in which she was sleeping caught fire in Pathananpurwa this evening, they said.

Police said that Shabnam's mother Sofia and younger brother sustained minor burn injuries in the incident.

Five other huts were also reduced to ashes before the villagers put out the fire.

Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, police said.
