Minor girl dies after being hit by Army vehicle

A minor girl was killed today in south Kashmir's Shopian district after allegedly being hit by an Army vehicle, whose driver has been detained, police said.

Arooba Farooq (12), a resident of Aglar Zainapora area of the district, was hit and injured by the Army vehicle near her residence this morning, a police spokesman said.

He said Arooba was taken to the Zainapora sub-district hospital in the same vehicle, but she was declared brought dead.

The police has registered a case and detained the driver of the vehicle, the spokesman said.

He said the vehicle has also been seized, adding that investigation into the matter is on.
