: In a minor reshuffle of police officers in Andhra Pradesh, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, a 1989-batch IPS officer, was today appointed as Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada.
Rao is currently the Additional Director General of Crime, Investigation Department.
The Vijayawada Police Commissioners post fell vacant after incumbent Gautam Damodar Sawang was transferred as DG, Vigilance and Enforcement, early this month.
Mahesh Chandra Laddha, currently the IG (Intelligence), has been posted as Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam city.
T Yoganand, currently CP, Visakhapatnam, has been transferred and posted as Additional CP, Vijayawada, an order issued by Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar said.
In other changes, T Ravi Kumar Murthy has been posted as DIG, Eluru Range, Shemushi has been made Superintendent of Police, Rajamahendravaram Urban and B Rajakumari DCP (Crimes), Vijayawada.
