A two-day get-together organised by Government to reach out to six minority communities concluded here today with the Union Minority Affairs Ministry holding interactions with religious leaders over Centre's welfare programmes meant for them.
The concluding day of the New Year get-together organised by the Ministry was attended by Union Ministers Thawar Chand Gehlot and Jayant Sinha, RSS leader Indresh Kumar and representatives of several embassies and leaders of Muslim, Jain and Buddhist communities.
"We wanted to interact with representatives of minority communities to tell them about programmes we undertook for their welfare including skill development initiatives. Religious leaders of different sects attended the meeting," Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla said.
Yesterday, representatives of Christian, Sikh and Parsi communities attended the get-together.
