The opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) today observed the 51st anniversary of 'Mizo National Day' at the party office here and in other towns across the state.

The MNF chief and former state Chief Minister Zoramthanga appealed to all the former erstwhile underground MNF members to come together and rejoin the party.

The MNF, led by Laldenga on March one, 1966 had given a call for an armed insurrection.

Peace finally came after 20-years when Laldenga signed the historic peace accord with the Centre on June 30, 1986.
