Mock safety drill at Agartala Airport

Sources in Airport Authority of India (AAI) said they conducted the mock drill to examine the preparedness of the ground staffs and admitted that many passengers became panicky as a result.

Agartala airport director Sudhamoy Maiti said that various groups of security forces, equipped with fire fighters, ambulances, fire pits, rescue teams, took their positions away and the authorities observed their responses.

Loopholes in the security and safety network were identified and would be reviewed, he said.
