Delayed by almost a fortnight, the southwest monsoon has finally arrived over Goa and Konkan, a senior official said today.
"The Monsoon arrived over Goa and South Konkan last evening and today it has covered the entire Konkan region," Indian Meteorological Observatory Director V K Mini told PTI.
Usually, the monsoon hits the coastal state around June 6.

However, in a release, the Met department said the monsoon has been weak over Goa.
"Rain and thunder shower is very likely to occur at most places overGoa during next five days. Heavyrainfallis also likely to occur at isolated places," it said.
The department has also urged fishermen not to venture out to sea for the next 24 hours.
