On an average, more than 30 complaints of various nature were received against Delhi Police personnel during 2013.
A total of 11,836 complaints were received against the personnel of the police department in the last one year, official data said today.
"158 vigilance inquiries have been initiated in the matter and 1,158 show cause notices have been issued against police personnel during the last one year," said a Delhi police official.

The data show that a total of 794 departmental inquiries have been set up against the policemen while 446 personnel were suspended in the past one year.
Talking about the number of complaints against his own department, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said "being a large department, complaints are bound to come. Inquiries are set up wherever and whenever needed and necessary actions are taken."
He also said it will be one of their priorities to better the relations between the people and the police so that crime in the city can be further curbed effectively.
