More than 627 kids struggling for lives due to malnutrition

More than 627 kids across the district are struggling for their lives due to malnutrition, despite sustained efforts by the Maharashtra state government and tall claims of the District Health Department, as per official data released here today.

According to the data, The number of children in the district is more than 2,27,337, out of which 120 kids are in the final stage of malnutrition, while 507 kids are in the third stage of malnutrition.

As per official data, Darwha (17 kids), Ghatanji (16 kids), Pusad (12 kids), Zari (12 kids) and Kalamb (11 kids) tehsils have the highest number of malnutrition-hit children who are in the final stage of malnutrition.
 

Yavatmal (37 kids), Ner (38 kids), Darwha (80 kids), Pusad (95 kids), Ghatanji (50 kids), Zari (35), Kalamb (32 kids) and Ralegaon (35 kids) have children in the third stage of malnutrition.

Incidentally, the latest government sponsored scheme was supplying chikki the kids which was supposedly implemented in Vidarbha, Amravati, Washim, Buldana and Wardha.

Yavatmal was not included in the first phase of the scheme but it was included in the second phase.
