Mother and three daughters charred to death in Murshidabad

The charred bodies of a mother and her three daughterrs were recovered from a house in Murshidabad district today, a police officer said.

The officer said neighbours discovered the bodies of a woman Najifa (22) and her daughters Ameena (5), Masida (3) and Tuhina (10 months old) from their house in Bhawanipur village today.

Najifa's husband Ustak Ali (30) who was not present in the house last night, was arrested in connection with the incident.

The officer said it was suspected the victims were doused in kerosene befor setting them on fire last night. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
