A tiger cub was found dead in the Bhiasanghat area near Tarraiyanala culvert in the Kanha Tiger Reserve in the district today.
The cub was 4-5 months old and no suspicious activity had been reported in the radius of 1.5-2 km, Reserve's Field Director J S Chouhan told reporters.
The autopsy showed that animal's stomach was empty and prima facie it appears that it died of pneumonia.
The body parts of the tiger cub were collected and sent for further forensic examination.
