Murder accused booked for photo on Facebook with illegal gun

A case has been registered against an accused in a murder case after he was found posing with an illegal firearm in a photograph posted on social networking website, Facebook.

According to Circle Officer Sanjeev Vajpayee, the accused Sachin is in police custody for the murder of a Class X student here on May 9.

The family members of Uvais, the murdered student, told police that the said snap -- in which the accused has been photographed with the illegal gun in front of him on a table -- was posted with a design to threaten them, police said.

The fresh case has been booked against the accused under the provisions of the IT Act.
