Mustard seed prices rolled down by Rs 23 to Rs 3,992 per quintal in futures trading today after operators cut down their holdings in line with weak physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in January dropped by Rs 23 or 0.57 per cent to Rs 3,992 per quintal, having an open interest of 36,720 lots.
The delivery for December also followed suit slipped by Rs 19 or 0.48 per cent to Rs 3,932 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 9,760 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants amid a muted trends at the spot markets on constant supplies amid weak demand, dragged mustard seed prices at futures trade here.
