Mute girl sexually harassed by driver

A 22-year-old hearing-impaired girl has been allegedly sexually harassed by a driver of a private college, following which the accused was arrested today, police said.

The victim complained to her mother in sign language that the accused, identified as Chidambaram used to come to the house at nearby Karamadai when she was alone and make sexual advances on her, they said.

When the mother questioned him, he allegedly abused her (mother) after which she lodged a police complaint.

Chidambaram was arrested and remanded to a judicial custody.
