Muted demand drags down copper futures by 0.14%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Copper prices traded lower by 0.14 per cent to Rs 324.30 per kg in evening session at the futures market today as participants trimmed their exposure owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of "Diwali Balipratipada".

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November moved down by 45 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 324.30 per kg, in a business turnover of 599 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.
