Myanmar national held with AK-47

A Myanmar national was arrested and four AK-47 assault rifles and as many empty magazines were recovered from his possession at Hnahlan in Champhai district of Mizoram, police said today.

Dalsianmunga of Lalta in Myanmar was arrested by jawans of the 39th battalion of the Assam Rifles last night.

It was not clear whether the weapons were meant for any insurgent groups or was an ordinary gun running, police said.
