Designer Nachiket Barve will show bold, striking Italian patterns, which are a part of Gothic architecture, through his collection at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) here.
Nachiket's line at the five-day fashion extravaganza (August 26-30) is named "Chiaroscuro".
"The use of light and shadow in art and the striking play of contrasts in patterns is called "Chiaroscuro" in Italian," the designer told PTI.

"The bold striking patterns seen in Gothic architecture, oversize florals and avian motifs are the main elements of the show," he added.
Nachiket has played with black and white with shades of grey and very few colour accents.
"The palette is pared down to strong contrast of black and white, punctuated with accents of marsala, pine and pewter."
Nachiket said this time there will be no showstopper for his show. "The collection is the showstopper, though we hope to see a lot of them (actors) on the red carpet," he said.
Nachiket has no qualms with the presence of Bollywood stars on the ramp and otherwise for fashion shows.
"Creativity works in many aspects and it's great to see talented actors, singers and other public figures wear my clothes in real and red carpet situations.
"Its important that there be a wonderful intimacy between the label and the person. I am always grateful to have people who love and support my label come for the show," he said.
