Narsi Reddy elected to council, defeats sitting MLC

Alugubelli Narsi Reddy was on Tuesday elected to the Telangana Legislative Council from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' constituency.

Counting of votes in the election held on March 22 was taken up Tuesday.

Reddy belongs to Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TS-UTF), supported by the Left parties.

The defeat of sitting MLC Poola Ravinder, reportedly backed by ruling TRS, in the election is seen as a setback to the party.
