The Nasdaq fell sharply early today, with Amazon, Facebook and other large tech stocks tumbling on worries about policy changes and protectionism under the coming administration of President-elect Donald Trump.
The Nasdaq, which had opened in positive territory, fell as much as two per cent, even as the blue-chip Dow index stayed in positive territory. Near 1545 GMT, the Nasdaq was down 1.5 percent to 5,174.89.
