The Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) and the BJP, which forged pre-poll alliance under the banner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), today announced 18 candidates to contest the coming elections to the 19-seat Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC).
The NDA was not contesting in one ward where an independent candidate would be supported by the alliance, a senior ZNP leader said.
The civic polls, to be held on November 26 would be a triangular contest between the ruling Congress and the Mizoram People's Conference (MPC) combine, the opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) and the NDA.
