NDFB (S) militant arrested, arms seized

A hardcore NDFB(S) militant was arrested and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered today by a joint team of Assam Police, Army and CRPF in Kokrajhar district of Assam.

"Based on an input about presence of 3-4 NDFB(S) cadre inside Ripu reserve forest, a joint operation was conducted by Assam police, Army and CRPF. In the operation, a hardcore NDFB(S) cadre was nabbed," Assam Inspector General of Police (BTAD) L R Bishnoi said.

From the militant security forces recovered 539 rounds of ammunition of AK rifle, five magazines of AK rifle, three HE36 hand grenades, one 7.65 mm pistol, two pistol magazines and four rounds of pistol ammunition, he added.
 

The militant, identified as Nipul Brahma, was directly involved in massacre of Adivasis in December last year, Bishnoi said.
