The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today suspended four officials, including the headmistress of the school where a class 2 student was allegedly raped by an electrician.
The officials suspended are Ram Ashray, the accused electrician who was arrested yesterday, headmistress Santosh Rawat, assistant engineer (Electric Department) Tulsi Ram and assistant teacher Shikha.
While the civic body has initiated disciplinary proceedings against them, it has also terminated the contract of junior engineer Saurabh Bisht, who was the accused's supervisor.
The six-year-old girl, a class 2 student of the NDMC-run school, was allegedly raped by the electrician in the school premises on Wednesday.
A case under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused electrician.
