Need to improve education sector in Arunachal: Governor

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra Wednesday called upon all stakeholders to actively participate in the mission to improve education sector in the state.

Addressing a Teachers Day celebration here, Mishra said education should have pan Arunachal approach with quality involvement of all stakeholders with missionary zeal.

"Every penny must be honestly spent for more returns. There must be a clear vision to achieve an all round better educational environment in the state enabling students for decent, self support in life," he said.

The governor said in the educational programmes, utilisation of resources, development of infrastructure and procurement and use of latest training, teaching aids, transparency, accountability, fair policy and even playground for students is the need of the hour.

 

Congratulating the awardees, Mishra said that it was their good effort and dedication that the education scenario has been improving in the state.

He made a special mention of Niranjan Shahoo, a retired teacher, who is still rendering his service gratis to the earlier school where he was teaching in Kurung Kumey district.

The governor presented the State Teachers Awards to 39 teachers, including 7 lady teachers on the occasion and released a book, titled 'Gandhi jis Nai Talim'.

Education Minister Honchun Ngandam, Education secretary Madhu Rani Teotia and special secretary education department, Rahul Singh also spoke on the occasion.
