Nepal Army Chief Gen. Gaurav Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana today visited Chandimandir military station, the headquarters of the Indian Army's Western Command, as part of his six-day visit to India.
In what is intended to boost Indo-Nepal friendship and cooperation, Gen. Rana is visiting the country to witness a combined training exercise, 'Surya Kiran', according to a defence release here.
Lt Gen. Philip Compose, GOC-in-C, Western Command, welcomed Gen. Rana at Chandimandir where he was presented with a Guard of Honour before being given a briefing about the facility.

The 'Surya Kiran' series of joint Indo-Nepal military exercises, which initially started at platoon level and has now been enhanced to battalion level, are aimed at achieving tactical-level understanding and inter-operability between the two armies, the release said.
The general was accompanied by his wife Rohini Rana for the visit.
