Candidates from Nepal's ruling coalition member UCPN (Maoist) and the main opposition Nepali Congress will have a direct face-off for the post of Vice- President, who is set to be chosen tomorrow.
Amiya Kumar Yadav of the main opposition Nepali Congress and Nanda Kishor Pun of the Nepal's ruling UCPN (Maoist) are in the race for the election for the post of Vice-President.
The UCPN (Maoist) issued a whip to its lawmakers today, asking them to vote for the party candidate Pun.
Only two candidates are left in the fray after Dayaram Kandel from the Nepal Pariwar Dal and an independent lawmaker Attahar Kamal Musalman withdrew their candidacy.
The voting for the election would take place at the Parliament Building from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and the results would be announced in the evening, according to sources in the Parliament Secretariat.
The poll comes just two days after Nepal's first woman president since the country was declared a republic took the oath of office.
