A new chariot made of gold and silver, claimed to be the biggest in the state, is to be dedicated to Goddess Durgaparameshwari, the presiding deity of Kateel temple near here on February 8.
The process of collecting doations for the temple chariot, built at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, began in 2002, the temple executive officer Ningaiah said in a release here.
A total of 11 kg of gold and 190 kg of silver had been used for building the chariot, he said.
State Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights T B Jayachandra would be dedicating the chariot at a ceremony to be held at the temple on Sunday.
