A new entrepreneur development scheme would in place in Himachal soon under the Rs 500 crore skill development programme to develop entrepreneurship among youth, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said today.
The scheme aimed at honing skills of youth to enable them to open new avenues of self employment, and more Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) for imparting training to youth of the state would come up in the state, he said addressing a public meeting at Gumma in Shimla rural constituency.
Keeping in view the fact that the scope for employment in government sector was limited, he said highly skilled manpower was the need of the hour to promote self-employment and employment in private sector.

He said the Rs 335 crore lift drinking water supply for Shimla, envisaging lifting of water from Kol Dam would be executed soon while Rs 87 crore was being spent on various road projects in Shimla rural constituency.
He said Rs 105 crore was being spent on the augmentation of Drinking Water Lift Supply Scheme from Sainj Nallah to Gharog Ghandal which would benefit around 62,000 people of 39 panchayats including 760 habitations.
Singh flagged off bus service from Sunni to Shimla via Devnagar and Ghanahatti, announced setting up of ITI at Mashobra, sub health centre at Kanola and upgradation of Primary School, Sauna, to Middle School.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated Rs 44 lakh worth Primary Health Centre at Gumma and Rs 6.5 crore ultra modern pre-fabricated 50 bedded civil hospital at Sunni.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that an X-ray machine facility would be provided to the hospital.
He also laid the foundation stone of 66 KV electric Sub Station at Sadhora in Gram Panchayat Baldeyan which would benefit 1.75 lakh people of Mashobra, Bharari, Dhalli, Durgapur, Moolkoti, Baldeyan, Kyar-Koti, Basantpur and Theog besides meeting the increasing demand for power.
Besides, it would also help in minimising transmission and distribution losses.
