One Direction star Niall Horan said he can't believe that he got the chance to sing into Frank Sinatra's microphone while recording his debut solo single at Capitol Records.

Horan surprised fans with the unexpected release of the track "This Town", becoming the first existing member of the boy band to put out a solo single.

In a new video interview, recorded for Capitol Studio's 1 Mic 1 Take series, Horan talked about the experience of standing in the shadows of the greats at the Los Angeles recording mecca, reported Contactmusic.

"Anyone who knows me knows I'm a huge swing fan and a huge Frank Sinatra fan. I have photos of him all over my house, so to be in that studio - some of the most famous pictures of Frank Sinatra have been taken in that studio - it had a real aura about it.

"It's such a famous building, such a famous record label... And to get the chance to go down to Studio A... Where everyone... Frank and all the Rat Pack recorded all their songs down there... Is pretty cool," Horan said.
