Nickel prices were up 0.70 per cent to Rs 692.80 per kg in futures market today after speculators widened their bets, tracking a firm trend in the spot market on increased demand from alloy makers.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in January gained Rs 4.80 or 0.70 per cent to Rs 692.80 per kg in a business turnover of 412 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February rose Rs 4.70 or 0.68 per cent to Rs 699.40 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said increased domestic demand from alloy makers and other consuming industries, supported uptrend in nickel futures here.
