Nickel weakens on reduced demand

Nickel prices weakened further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' selling amid reduced demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, zinc and lead also dropped further owing to lower demand from alloy industries.

Brass gained further following good demand from industrial users.

Nickel prices fell by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 770 from Wednesday's close of Rs 780.

Zinc edged down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 238 as against Rs 241 yesterday and lead softened by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 150 as compared Rs 152.

However, brass sheet cuttings moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 318 from Rs 315 and brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 307 as against Rs 305 yesterday.
