Nine detained for murder

Nine persons have been detained for interrogation in connection with the murder of a 47 year old prisoner, police said today.

They said CCTV recordings obtained from a commercial centre in the area helped to nab the culprits who hacked to death Balasubramanian alia Singaram when he was being escorted to Tuticorin in connection with a bomb hurling case at Morapanaadu.

The assailants had used vehicles with Lawyer stickers.

They seized two sickles, knives and iron rod from the vehicles.
