Nitish pays tribute to departed wife

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined by his son and other family members today paid tributes to his wife Manju Sinha, who had passed away in 2007.

Kumar visited his native place Kalyanbigha in Harnaut block of Nalanda district and garlanded the statue of his wife in a park there, an official statement said here.

He also garlanded statue of his father and freedom fighter Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh in the park there named after the father.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by son Nishant Kumar, elder brother Satish Kumar, elder sister Usha Devi and younger sister Indu Sinha in paying respect to the departed soul.
 

Kumar's wife Manju Sinha had passed away on May 14, 2007. She was 53.

Their marriage was solemnised in February 1973 when Kumar was studying in Bihar College of Engineering (now NIT), Patna.

Eldest among five brothers and sisters, Manju Sinha was teaching in government school in Patna.

Besides, family members, JD(U) MP RCP Singh, Nalanda Lok Sabha member Kaushlendra Kumar and state minister Shrawan Kumar also paid tributes to CM wife.

Later, Kumar visited Maharani temple in Kalyanbigha and prayed to the god seeking peace and prosperity of the citizens of the state.

He mingled with fellow villagemen and rekindled old memories.
