The Jharkhand government today said allegations against any party or individual should not be mentioned in the Assembly without evidence.

Replying to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Amit Mahto's allegations against a party and an individual in connection with some incidents in his Silli constituency in the past few days, Parliamentary Affairs Minister C P Singh said mentioning names without evidence was wrong.

"It's not in consonance with parliamentary tradition," Singh said pointing to another JMM MLA Ravindra Mahto nudging Amit Mahto to keep standing after the later picked up the allegations on a point of information.

Singh said Amit Mahto has been allotted security.

Speaker Dinesh Oraon expunged the name of the party from the day's proceedings.

Speaking for his party MLA, the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Hemant Soren, said he and some others had been to Silli yesterday and saw four/five families moving out of the area as an atmosphere of fear prevailed.

Stating that he met the victims and saw "post-election stink of politics", Soren alleged such situation was also prevailing in other areas like Seraikella and in the Kolhan division and the government should take notice of it.
