The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Goa-Karnataka region) B R Balakrishnan today said it has not yet been decided to handover the case relating to seizure of cash and valuables from three lockers of the Bowring institute, an elite club, to Enforcement Directorate.

Club secretary Srikanth has said I-T sleuths on being alerted by the club on Friday had seized the valuables.

The bags in the lockers reportedly contained about Rs 3.90 crore, gold bars weighing about 650 grams, a Rolex watch and another watch valued to be around Rs 35-40 lakh.

To a question whether the case would be handed over to the Enforcement Directorate, Balakrishnan today said "it has not been decided yet."

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, Balakrishnan said, "So far political connections to the case have not been established."

Srikanth has said one of the members of the club claimed that the valuables belonged to him.

A section of local media has reported that the member had allegedly links with some politicians.
