No respite from searing heat in UP

Uttar Pradesh today continued to reel under scorching heat as weather remained dry and hot throughout the state.

According to MeT office, temperatures were appreciably above normal in Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Allahabad and Lucknow divisions.

It was above normal in Varanasi, Bareilly and Moradabad divisions while highest maximum temperature was recorded in Etawah at 43.8 degrees Celsius.

MeT office, in a forecast, said rains or thundershowers are expected at isolated places in western parts of the state while weather will remain mainly dry in the eastern parts.
