Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa today said the notification for recruitment of 14,000 police constables would be issued soon.
"The state-level police training institute would come at a place near Vijayawada and proposals were submitted to the Centre for giving environment clearance to the site and for funds," Chinarajappa, who also holds the Home portfolio, told reporters here.
The minister laid the foundation stone for construction of district police office building.
Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police J. Ramudu said police stations in agency area were being modernised at a cost of 2 crore each.
