A National People's Party (NPP) worker has been killed by a suspected NSCN(IM) member at a village in Arunachal Pradesh, a district official said.
The suspected member of the Isak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Coucil of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) assaulted Jaley Anna and his friend Kham Nai Abhi, both NPP workers, at Kheti village in Tirap district at around 10 PM on Friday, the official said on condition of anonymity.
While Anna died on the spot, Abhi has been admitted to a hospital, he said.
The NSCN(IM) member has been identified as one Eli Kethak, a resident of Kheti village.
The deceased was a supporter of NPP candidate Tirong Aboh, who is contesting from Khonsa West assembly seat.
An FIR has been lodged at Khonsa police station.
