The Odisha government is all set to hand over the case of missing senior Indian Bureau of Mines official Ibrahim Sharif to the CBI, official sources said.

"We are preparing documents to hand over the case to the CBI as the case is linked to different states," a senior home departrment official said.

He said that Ibrahim's wife Salma Parveen Begum and other family members had also demanded transfer of the investigation to the CBI.

Unable to trace her husband, who went missing on November 25, 2013, Begum in a press conference had wanted a CBI probe into the matter as she was unhappy with the investigation of the local police.

Begum had also requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to either order a speedy investigation or hand over the case to CBI.
